Open-PI is an altogether new approach at making a deep seeking PI machine.
The XPI was a huge success but due to patent restrictions we were unable to release it to the public. Now were back to the drawing boards with a totally open design and we need your help!

We learned allot from the XPI project, but the biggest thing was noise.
The AFE on the XPI looked like this
[COIL]->[Current Limiting Resistors]->[Blocking Diodes]->[SDPD SWITCH to ground adc input during peak flyback]->[5X Gain, Bufer]->[10X Gain, Buffer]->[16BIT SAR 2MSPS ADC]
Although this topology has worked well for us we think there are some gains that can be made.

Update: I've been spending some time trying to decide on the ADC to use, I'm leaning towards this Linear Technology LTC2378-20, a 20-bit 1Msps no latency successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
